WHY THE HEROINE BECAME THE VILLAINESS? - Chapter Seven

 CHAPTER SEVEN

“My lady, the mat was properly laid out.”

“Thank you, Marielle.”, Roanne gratefully said and sat down on the mat and started her exercise routine.

Over the week, she worked on becoming a good master to Lady Beatrice’s personal maid. Indifferent from the real one, she was not someone who think highly and arrogant. She knows the importance of building a good and harmonious relationship with others. She always keeps in mind that whatever the circumstances you are in, may be bad or good, never forget to put kindness in any way.

“Lady Beatrice.”

“Yes, Marielle.”, as Roanne answered as she stretching her legs on the mat while bending her upper body to reach her ankle.

“The Marquess Croix came back late at night yesterday.”

Roanne stopped reaching her ankle. Her body stiffened by its own just hearing the news given by the maid. “What?”, she said with calm tone. He’s here already?”, but her mind screamed.

“The Butler told me to inform you that the Marquess wanted to have a breakfast with you this morning.”

“Ah… Is that so?”, she responded with low tone, not letting her troubled heart traced on her face. “That would be nice.”

While Roanne is stretching her limbs, she tried to remember the memories that she gained from the body of Lady Beatrice. The memories were somehow hazy and coalesced by little scenes, even so she was still grateful for having it rather than to find her way in the dark. “Afterall, I can’t just pretend having lost memory after just waking up in one morning.”

If she was right, one of the reasons why the Marquess Croix visited the Imperial Palace was to attend the monthly special council meeting. However, there was a memory that she can’t feel any comfort. It was the message left by Marquess to Lady Beatrice before he left.

“My Beatrice, once I came back, I might have good news for you that I know how much you were waiting for.”, the Marquess happily informed the lady.

“For real, father? I am now very excited to hear it”, with excitement, Lady Beatrice confirming to her father.

“Slowly. My dear, but I am very much sure that it will only bring happiness on you.”, he said and patted his daughter’s head.

“I can’t wait. Anyway, don’t forget the things I have requested, Father. I want new dresses if possible, those on trends in capital today, and also, the shoes and jewelries. That’s all I wish for Father.”

“Of course, for my Beatrice. Nothing in this world, I cannot give you.”

Lady Beatrice hugged his father and say goodbye. Marquess Croix, then, went up to his carriage.

She wondered about the good news that the Marquess was saying back then. After possessing the body of Lady Beatrice, she couldn’t bring herself at ease at any time.  Knowingly that the lady was a total brat, she knew that the lady’s desires were something so extravagant. “I just hope that it really is a good news.”

“My Lady, I forgot to tell you that the Marquess brought a lot of gifts for you from the capital. It will be transferred here in your room later.”, Marielle exhilaratingly announced.

“Gifts?”, she stopped her stretching and turned to look at Marielle.

“Yes, My Lady. You requested it before the Marquess left. You're very lucky to your father. He really loves you, My Lady.”, she said admirably with her both hands clasped.

“I can’t wait. Anyway, don’t forget the things I have requested, Father. I want new dresses if possible, those on trends in capital today, and also, the shoes and jewelries. That’s all I wish for Father.”

“Ahh.. yes. I forgot. La— I did request that”, she quickly changed her response.

“You forgot, My Lady?”, Marielle asked with confusion. After realizing her mistake, Marielle lowered her head. “I am sorry for my imprudence behavior. I shouldn’t ask you that way, My Lady.”

She smiled by the sudden flustered of the maid even though they were conferred effortlessly these past days. She mused that it was not easy to accept her sudden change, and she is well aware of the real reason behind it. Being in this body, she knew how cruel Lady Beatrice was.

“It is alright, Marielle. I really did forget it. If it weren’t you, I wouldn’t be reminded. There’s just a lot of things I was sorting out.”

“Thank you, My Lady.” Hmm.. Sorting out? Marielle chose not to dwell on the notion of her lady.

“And I am allowing you to ask anything on me, and I will answer you as long as I can, but if I found it too personal, please understand if I don’t want to respond to your question.”, she explained with pure intention.

“That was too much for me to take, My Lady, but I am very grateful to hear it.”

“Like I said last time, I want to change for the better. Can I have your support, Marielle?”

“Yes, I will, My Lady.”, Marielle exhilaratingly proclaimed.

“Let’s start to build a harmonious relationship, Marielle.”

“Yes, My Lady.”, with teary eyed, agreed by Marielle.

“Then, will you ready my bath because, in any minute, I’ll be finished stretching here.”, she calmly ordered the maid.

“Yes, right away, My Lady.”, Marielle said and slowly stepped out the room with full of joy.

The maid never thought that there will be a time that she will be very thankful for having Lady Beatrice as her master. She remembered her first week with the lady; without thinking twice, she concluded that it was a real nightmare. Every day of that week, she thought that her soul will leave her body any moment due to extreme fear and anxiety towards the lady, but one day, everything changes. She doesn’t care whatever strange spectacles happened with her lady, as long as these days will continue. It did become her new hope.

  ****-------****

After taking a bath, Marielle assisted her in dressing up. She picked the simplest and casual dress of Lady Beatrice. She still not used to wear the corset. “I think I am going to puke my internal organs before I got to use wearing this stupid tight corset.”, she complained inwardly.

“My Lady, I will put a light make up on you.”

“I’ll be fine having just powder on my face, Marielle. I am just going to eat breakfast with father. It is not like a big party.”, she chuckled.

Not that she was not used wearing make up in her previous life, it’s just that Lady Beatrice is really extremely beautiful with her long eyelashes, pinky small lips, snowy white skin, and slender body. She is like a living doll that just having powder on her face, her beauty will not cease.  Her most favorite part is her eyes pigmented by dark blue-sky color. It emits a mystic aura that anyone can be drawn by it.

“Yes, My Lady.”, as she agreed. Unlike before, Marielle learned not to question the changes of the lady silently.  She already accepted the declaration of the lady to change for the better, and no one can decline an offer from their master to have harmonious relationship with them. It is better to call as an honor. “Then, what hairstyle would you like today, My Lady?”

“Just let it flow, Marielle.”

“Then, I will make it sure to shine it, My Lady.” Marielle said and gently combed her hair.

  ****-------****

“Everything is done, My Lady. We are just in time for your breakfast with the Marquess.”

“Thanks for the hard work, Marielle.”

“It will always be my pleasure, My Lady.”

Roanne, then, stood up and started walking outside the room. Halt.

Her sudden stop, Marielle worriedly asked. “Is there something wrong, My Lady?”

“Ahm.. Marielle, can you please walk first, and I will follow you behind.”, she said in low tone.

Marielle tilted her head with confusion, but still followed the order of the lady.

Roanne can’t trust the few flashes of memories that she gained from Lady Beatrice, she was afraid to move erroneously and only to produce suspicions towards her.

WHY THE HEROINE BECAME THE VILLAINESS? - Chapter Six

CHAPTER SIX

“Dear My Beloved Zeke,

I hope this letter finds you safe and sound. I know it is been almost a month since we were not able to see each other, but it feels like an eternity. I miss the sound of your voice and being able to look at you. I can remember the day we met like it was yesterday.

To be honest, I have so many mixed feelings these past few days that I can hardly wonder where to start. The moments being with you, moments that will remain in my heart forever, although I know that those moments were seemingly unpleasant to you.  I am very well aware of my mischiefs that I have done just to get your attention.

Knowingly, I will not deny that it hurts, because a part of me is still where you are. But I am also aware that things have changed enormously and I learned that love will never be done by force or orders, rather, by natural flow and let it find you.  And if it is not meant to be, it would never mean to be.

What I am meaning to say to you is: I will no longer force myself on you. These past few weeks I have realized all the wrongful things that I did whom you don’t truly deserve.

It is true that the moments being with you are days that would not change for anything in the world, although today I feel like crying and I keep wondering, if am I doing the right thing?

Your affection is all that I wanted, but I forgot to ask if you are really happy being with me. Without consulting to your own feelings, I followed you everywhere, clung to you like a leech. This greed of mine increasingly day by day caused nothing but unfortunate memories for you. I can’t even think on how did I get to this point? I guess these are answers that I will take a little while to discover, or maybe I will never know.

Now the end of one of the most beautiful and painful stages of my life has come, but I don’t regret loving you, but I learned that I should have let go of this feeling. I promised that I will never ever bother you again, and I truly wholeheartedly seeking your forgiveness for all the unpleasant things that I have instigated.

To prove it to you, by the next school year, I will show that I have changed for the better. I will focus to my study and embrace my responsibility and obligations as a noble and to be a proud daughter of Marquess Croix.

To end this letter, I would like you to know that I will always pray for your well-being and success in the future. I wish you the best of luck.

Yours Truly,

Beatrice Delavine Croix”

With mental rejection and contestability, Zeke asked again to Alec, who is standing right beside him. “Is this letter really coming from the lady?

“Yes, Mr. President. The seal of the Marquess Croix Family engraved on the envelop.”, politely answered, mixed with disconcerted, by Alec.

It is been a week since Lady Beatrice sent a letter again to him. Truth be told, he never opens or read the letters she delivered every day, because he only finds it annoyingly and ruined his day, but the letter today is different.  The words written on the envelop, “My last letter for you.”, deeply caught Zeke’s curiosity that he ended reading it.

He can’t believe that the lady, who never failed to spy him everywhere just to be able to follow him wherever he goes, the parties, the hunting games, and even, his little errands which in actuality, the days he sneaked out from their estate that anyone would impossible to know, declared through letter that she is now letting go of him. In addition, she is seeking his forgiveness for all her mischiefs.

He can’t help to fill suspicions towards the intention of the lady. It is highly impossible for her to suddenly act this way. But he also did not deny the possibility of his prayers every night to be granted by God, that may be Lady Beatrice found a man more suitable to her. And if it is only simple just like that, he will be truly happy and enthusiastically send his blessing unto the lady, but that would be too impossible to happen in just mere three weeks.  He remembered how the lady brutally and violently treated those women who tried to be close to him.  That proves that in two years, since their meeting, the lady was deadly hooked on him.

“This letter is undeniably distrustful.”, he uttered with disbelief and qualms.

  ****-------****

Roanne, who is possessing the body of Lady Beatrice, happily woke up early this morning.  She stretched her arms high above. After mulling herself over a week in writing a letter for the male lead, Zeke, and the same was surely delivered by now, she felt that the thorn piercing her in the chest was softly pulled out.

As she expected, Zeke must have already read the letter yesterday. She also anticipated the fact that the male lead might not even care to check or read the letters sent by the real Lady Beatrice, that is why, she intentionally noted on the back of the envelop the words, “My last letter for you.”, for insurance.

She alighted from her bed. Her body felt fresh and light as she merrily circled and spun around in the wide bedroom with joyful humming.

The letter she sent to the young heir of the Duke Aland was purposely filled with love, farewell, and apology. After discovering that Lady Beatrice always sends letters to the male lead every day, at first, she felt anxious and alarmed on what would she do about it if she was the real one.

But then on, an idea struck her, “I am not the real one. I am not Lady Beatrice. I am not her.”, she thought. “I am not Lady Beatrice.”, then, she loudly spoke it again. “I am not her so why would I need to be so anxious about.”, she said again while holding her forehead because of the realization came into view.

“I am not Lady Beatrice. I am Roanne and I am now the one who is possessing this body. I am now responsible to this body. Bullshit that novel’s plot. I will write my own fate. I will rewrite the cruel fate of Beatrice Delavine Croix as the villainess. Screwed that story.”, she inwardly exclaimed to herself while raising her both hands with closed fist.

She thought on what she only needs to do and that is to avoid or to befriend the heroine, Canaria, and to never ever bother the male lead, Zeke. She musingly added that she will make her own role as a side character rather becoming the villainess of this story and only faced a cruel death in the end. Cruel death. She hurriedly shook her head from the idea that suddenly popped out.

It was engraved in her mind by her parents that the phrase, “give up”, is for those weak and coward, and she was not.  She always put herself optimistically facing all the challenges thrown at her by this cruel world. Stumbling on the road doesn’t mean that she needs to stop. Life always goes on and if she like nice things, she just needed to work for it.

With the thought of her parents suddenly appeared, Roanne sat down on the sofa while likely her ecstatic energy depleted in one second. “I miss them.”, her sadly short remarked. Tears started to flow to her cheeks.

Knock knock.

“Lady Beatrice. It is your maid, Marielle.”, said by the woman to the other side of the door.

Hearing the voice of Marielle, Roanne musings ended. She then hurriedly approached the bed and pulled the blanket over her lower body, and gently wipe her tears using the same. She also checked her appearance with the small mirror beside the bed. With no trace of crying on her face, she cleared her throat before answering the one who called her behind the doors.

“Yes, Marielle. You may come in.”

The door opened and released the maid, Marielle. She is holding a basin with lukewarm water and a white towel hanged on her right arm as she ordered to her last time that she wanted to wash her face early in the morning.

She told the maid that starting last week, she will wake up early than the usual hour. Afterall, even obtaining a body of an eleven-year old girl, she is still a fully grown woman inside, specifically, with the age of 27. She was not lazy enough like the girl who originally owned this body.

After putting down the basin on the table and placing the towel beside it, Marielle approached the closet and took a mat inside. Then, she well spreads it on the floor.

At first, the maid strangely took her orders about it as she boldly declared that she wanted to stretch her arms and legs every morning. She used the word, “stretch” because she is not well aware if the word “exercise” was already a common practice in this era, especially on women.

Medieval time is one of the very conservative and preserved eras known in her real time. Woman is used to wear big dresses and tight corset inside molding their body shapely, and also, used for attracting perspective husband. Further, good manners and etiquette are essential in a noble life. One of the advantages for Roanne, because in her previous life, she loved to read romance and fantasy novels that was set in medieval era. She was fascinated by the politeness and well-mannered etiquette of the people with each other that she really looked up to.

In her real time, the word “gentleman” is starting to join the history of her country, not that she doesn’t believe that there was still out there, but the fact that they just becoming fewer as time goes by. It is saddened to hear, but her real world is becoming to be that way. Liberation.  It might be the reason why she was really hooked by the people in this time, but she was also dismayed for those arrogant and greedy nobles, especially, those badly treating the commoners like they own the world.

With this principle, she was determined to not follow the plot of this harsh novel to her character. She will change the fate of the lady.

WHY THE HEROINE BECAME THE VILLAINESS? - Chapter Five

CHAPTER FIVE

“She coped up easily calling me by Zeke only. It felt nice having a friend.”, he smiled to his own notion. “Well, I would like to talk to the other young nobles here by my own self, and I think you should also attend to your other audience today. I don’t want to burden you much of my presence, Lady Beatrice”

“You are not a burden at all, Zeke. Please don’t feel that way. And yes, you are right about the other audience…”, she shook her head and hesitantly replied.

Zeke noticed the uneasiness on the face of the lady. He furrowed his brows seeing the hesitant and strange behavior of the lady in front of him. He tried to deny the idea that the lady wanted to take solely his attention, just like the other ladies towards him. I hope not so.

Then, she continued with a smile, “…but I can’t let you be as you are the young heir of the duke. It is my obligation to check that you’ve enjoyed this tea party.”

Not letting his disbelief to surface, Zeke is definitely stupefied. “Is she trying to say that she’ll stay with me until the party ended? But how about the idea of making more friends? Did I get it wrong about her?”, “I understand your concern, Lady Beatrice, but it is also your obligation as the one who is hosting this event to take care of the other attendees.”, he calmly and composedly replied.

“But—”

“I am really alright, Lady Beatrice. You can enjoy yourself with the other young girls here”, and after saying that he smiled languidly and turned his back to her, and walked towards to the table where the young male nobles are.

****-------****

Splash. Slap.

A juice was thrown to Lady Florence Woodse from Baron Woodse family and followed by a heavy slap that turned the cheeks of the lady to red tomato.

“How dare you to say that, whom here I am, the host of this tea party?”

“I am sorry, Lady Beatrice. It just a slipped of a tongue.”, crying replied by Lady Woodse while holding her slapped cheeks.

“A slipped of---”, shouting, Lady Beatrice was trailed off.

“What is happening here, Lady Beatrice?”, Zeke asked immediately when he reached the commotion.

“Zeke, this girl here is saying non-sense.”, she angrily yelled.

“Non-sense? Then, will you let me know what non-sense is that that you are talking about for you to throw your drinks towards the lady…”, he stopped. “And I can see from her face that you even slapped her?”, Zeke seriously and calmly questioned Lady Beatrice.

“Your way of questioning Zeke seems that I am the one at fault here. That lady started it all.”, she grumbled while pointing to Lady Woodse.

“Lady Beatrice, I am just asking the details of the situation. Thus, will you let me help to understand it.”, with serious face, he calmly pleaded.

“….This woman here saying that she likes you, and she even concluded that you, Zeke, also might feel the same way towards her when you just first met her here, and that is absurd. Is it not? How a lowly lady like her approached you, a very esteemed high ranking you, with those kinds of delusions?”, she angrily explained.

Zeke was shocked by the reasoning came out from Lady Beatrice. Undisputable, it is true that it is an absurd idea that he might like a person who he just only met once, but the actions inflicted by the lady is preposterous as she was not by any position to unsavorily act like that towards Lady Woodse. With disbelief, Zeke found himself befuddled in a short moment, because of the sudden evinced of Lady Beatrice’s real personality.

Even with perplexity, Zeke called the maid servant standing close from them. “You.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”, the flustered maid servant answered and bowed.

“Tend to the lady immediately.”, he ordered.

“Wait, Zeke. Aren’t you going to confront her first?”, she grumbled again.

“There is no need, Lady Beatrice. The lady has already had enough humiliation.”, caused by you, he actually wanted to add, but he tried his best not to.

Lady Beatrice slightly flustered. When Lady Woodse was not in the line of sight. She spoke immediately to Zeke.

“I am sorry, Zeke, for this sudden disturbance that I made.”, she pleaded.

Zeke only seriously looked at her without uttering a word. He is likely giving her a pretense that he was waiting for her reasonable explanation on why she acted like that to the lady.

As she continued, “When I heard her absurd delusions over you, I can’t help to get mad. I am sorry if I did cross the line.”

Sigh. “Did I mistakenly understand this lady?”, he thought. “Lady Beatrice, I am thankful to you for thinking of me...”

Hearing the gratitude of Zeke, Lady Beatrice instantly curved a smile on her face that Zeke did not miss.

“…but I am quite disappointed on your deeds today, it is improper to violently act like you did to her for just a mere love delusion over me.”, he sternly said.Love? What the….”

“…..I understand. I promise that this would not happen again. I am sorry.”, she pleaded with gloomy eyes.

Sigh. “Alright, I will take it, but you should apologize first to the lady.”, he said.

Lady Beatrice furrowed her brows, but then, lowered her head and answered, “Yes, I will send my apology to her.”

“Okay, then. I think it is time for me to leave now.”, as he turning his back, Lady Beatrice clasped his right hand.

“Am I forgiven, Zeke? I am forgiven, right?”

“Unbelievable.”, unintentionally, he thought. Until you made your apology—”, he was trailed off by the immediate answer from the lady. “Yes, I will! Promise. Promise”

“…”

“Then, I am still your friend, right? Right?”, as she likely rephrased her question.

Of course, he is not that feebleminded. It is true that he was disappointed, but Lady Beatrice is still young. She might have done it out of childish behavior. At least, he can somehow comprehend that idea. “Yes, Lady Beatrice. We are still friend.”

“Thank you, Zeke.”, she happily screamed and hugged him tightly. Zeke was once again stunned by the lady. He, then, slowly loosened the hands of the lady that circled his waist.

“Then, I’ll be leaving. Lady Beatrice. Thank you for inviting me.”

“I will escort you, Zeke.”

“It is alright. I can manage—”

“No. It is improper for me to not do it.”

Sigh. How many times did I sigh today? “Then, if you insist Lady Beatrice.”

With Zeke’s affirmation, she grabbed the right hand of Zeke, which Zeke made stiff, and she really did guide him all throughout the exit of the Marquess’ palace up to his carriage, while the servants followed behind them.

“See you again, Zeke.”, she said brightly releasing him.

“Yes, thank you, Lady Beatrice,” he replied languidly. For some reason, he can’t muster to say back, see you again, to her.

And Zeke’s instinct seems to be right on the spot to not reply those words, because in two (2) years, Lady Beatrice never missed to follow him everywhere, or to cling and to get close to him which he, then, finds it later exasperating.

Being able to get a break from Lady Beatrice using the university as an excuse is a true miracle given from above for him.  Lady Beatrice has no idea that within the time of not being able to see each other, every night Zeke always prays, other than world’s peace, she may find another man that more suitable to her.

From the window the yellow orange sunlight scattered in the room passing through from the window of the Student Council Room, Zeke stopped musing about the Lady. He just hoped that the lady would really stop disturbing him by sending letter.  Then sudden idea popped out, what if the lady is starting to plan a wicked scheme again like in the past. He shook his head from the idea. “I hope this time. She is not up to something wicked again.”

WHY THE HEROINE BECAME THE VILLAINESS - Chapter Four

CHAPTER FOUR

Lady Beatrice is known for being head over heels to the young heir of Duke Aland, which is unfortunately him. It is said that the moment she laid her eyes unto him, she instantly fell in love with him.

It has been two years since he met the lady in a tea party held in the Marquess Croix's Estate. Zeke is at the same age with the young heir of Marquess Croix, Ronald, and one year older to the daughter, Lady Beatrice. The marchioness, Sarah Vanella Croix, has passed away due to a weak heart condition. This context undeniably helped him to relate with the siblings as her mother was also died long ago.

At first, he was captivated by the lady's eyes, it gave off a feeling of mystery. She has dark blue-sky eyes color, which also compliments to her silvery hair. Further, he had never seen anyone with white as snow as her skin. Being the daughter of Marquess, her well known etiquette also never missed….,

but it seems that first impression never last for her.

Now, just a mere thought of Lady Beatrice is enough for his face to be darkened and prepared to visit hell. The Lady's angelic appearance is far from the evil lurking inside of her.

And because of the lady, Zeke will never forget the first tea party at the Marquess that he regretfully attended.

**** ------- ****

It is an honor to have you here, Young Heir of Duke Aland. ”, Greeted with a bow by the Marquess to Zeke.

“It is my pleasure. Marquess Ron Claude Croix. Thank you for your invitation. ”

“I should be the one, Your Highness, to be grateful. Thank you. ”, And he bowed again, and lifted his head to continue conversing to him, “ Ah, you might find it strange that I was the one greeting you, Your Highness, for this tea party. As you may know, it is hosted by my beautiful daughter. ”

“…”

“As a father, I would just like to guide and make my Beatrice comfortable for this is her first time handling an event. She is still at a very young age. It is just my Beatrice wanted to have more friends with the same age. ” , humbly explained by the Marquess. "That is why we are delightful to receive your acceptance in attending this event."

“It is alright, Marquess Croix. I also would like to know and befriend with my fellow nobles, same age as I am also. ”

"Then, allow me to guide you at the place of the party."

“Thank you.”, Zeke, then, followed the Marquess.

By way of Marquess to allow this petty request of his daughter to host a tea party at this young age, which was not a usual event for young girls to handle. But It really seems that Marquess Croix was the real busy body behind all the preparations of this event which only proves, how much the Marquess loves and cares his daughter, Lady Beatrice. Interesting”

As we exited the Marquess Palace through the back glassy door, a wide beautiful garden appeared in my view.   There is a lot of beautiful pink roses and white roses that it did compliment the tea party of the young lady. At the end of the road of the field of roses, you will be able to see a narrowed water stream that has a golden bridge.   A bridge that connects the garden to a small stunning and gorgeous kiosk that has the same design with the greenhouse of the kingdom palace, which it looks a small version of it. The only difference is no plants inside, but four (4) benches forming a square and at the middle, a circle white table.

“Beatrice, my daughter”, called by the Marquess to his daughter.

“Yes, father.”, Answered by the young lady. The young lady went close to her father and turned her gaze to Zeke.   It was noticeably that the dark blue eyes sparkled at the moment it met his gazed.

“Beatrice, this is the young heir of Duke Aland. Please introduce yourself properly. ” , by introduction of the Marquess.

“I am very honored, Young Heir of Duke Aland, for having you here at my first tea party. I am Beatrice Delavine Croix, the young daughter of Marquess Croix. ”, As she gracefully curtsied and bowed.

"It is also my pleasure to meet you, Lady Beatrice.", He replied with a languid smile.

"Then, Beatrice, please guide Your Highness, to your tea party.", Said by Marquess to Lady Beatrice.

“Yes, Father. I will. ” , replied by the lady with a bright smile on her face.

**** ------- ****

Unlike the proper tea party hosted by fully pledge adults, the tea party of Lady Beatrice has still filled with silly and childish atmosphere in it. The young nobles both male and female seem to have their own world. Small groups were created. Overall, you can still see that the young nobles enjoyed and were joyful by their own way in the tea party.

As the two walked inside the party, the young noble ladies immediately noticed the presence of Zeke. After all, the reason why they went to attend this event was due of the latter. The news of the young heir of Duke accepted the invitation of Lady Croix's tea party immediately spread in the ears of all nobles. As to why, all nobles sent their young daughters and sons to the party for the opportunity to be close or became a friend of Zeke.

As they continued in the middle of the tea party, all the young nobles one by one greeted Zeke.

**** ------- ****

"Sir Zeke?" , called by Lady Beatrice.

"Yes, Lady Beatrice?"

“Is it alright if I called you, Zeke. I know for a fact what is the importance of ranks to us, nobles, and we are still at the stage of studying our obligations in the society, but as you may not know, the reason why I eagerly hosted this party is to have more friends. And if you do not find it quite well or that I am crossing the line to much, I would like to ask you… can you be my friend? ”

"By all means, Lady Beatrice." , he shortly replied.

“Thank you, Zeke. I am really happy on your positive response. ” , she exclaimed and clasped both his hands together. Zeke stunned by the sudden acts of the lady.

Then a voice called from Zeke's back, "Beatrice."

Lady Beatrice, then, peeked from his back to see who was calling her.

"Brother." , answered by Lady Beatrice with still ecstatic liveliness, and she, then, let go of Zeke's hand.

"I am sorry that I came late as I just sneaked out from my study, so I am sorry lil 'sister if I need to go immediately.", Apologetically said by his brother Ronald.

“It is alright, Brother. Don't be upset. And Zeke is here too to make me happy in this tea party of mine. ”

“Zeke? Who is— “, he asked unknowingly, but as he recognized the boy in front of him. “I am sorry for not being able to greet you as soon as I see you, Young heir of Duke Aland. My name is Ronald Augustus Croix, the son of Marquess Croix. ” , he immediately greeted with composure.

“It is alright. Sir Ronald. I am glad that I was able to meet the next successor of the Marquess. ”

“Thank you. I am honored. But then, I would like to apologize again, as I need to leave now. I just really want to show my support to my lil 'sister. ” , he replied to both of us.

“Is that really so, brother? That being said, it's really heartwarming. Thank you, Brother. ”

“Yes, lil 'sister. And I am glad that it appears that everything is okay here. ”, Ronald said as he looked around the party. “It is a proof that you are brightly growing my lil's sister. It is just with a broken heart that I have to leave you immediately here. ”

"It is alright." , she said and by hand, reached the cheek of his brother.

"Then, I'll be leaving."

“Yes, Brother. Goodluck on your study. ”

When Ronald left us, Zeke spoke again to Lady Beatrice, "Lady Beatrice."

"Yes, Zeke.", Then, she turned her gazed to Zeke.
